This year was just full of uncertainty, especially for the students. As the schools and all other learning institutions were closed to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 infection, the students were suffering a significant loss at their studies. Though the measure was necessary to contain the infection, it had put the student\u2019s community speculating how they would cover up the entire syllabus. Now to help the students balance off their studies as per the available time, the CBSE has purportedly reduced the syllabus at around 30% less than that of the previous year syllabuses. Today on July 7, the Central Board of Secondary Education has released a circular regarding aforementioned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Director of Academics, Career Point, Mr Shailendra Maheshwari said that it was a needed step, and now it will help the students prepare without getting tint of stress.<\/span><\/p>\n

This circular addressed to all heads of institutions affiliated to CBSE mentions all the details on the subject \u201crevised Academic Curriculum for the session 2020-21\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The circular reads as mentioned below:-<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe prevailing health emergency in the country and at different parts of the world as well as the efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in loss of class room teaching due to closure of schools. Therefore the Board has decided to revise the syllabi for classes IX-XII for the academic session 2020-21. The changes made in the syllabi have been finalized by the respective Course Committees with the approval of the Curriculum Committee and Governing Body of the Board.<\/span><\/p>\n

The revision of syllabi is a measure taken due to the extraordinary situation prevailing in the country and at different parts of the world. Considering the importance of achieving the level of learning, the syllabus has been rationalized to the extent possible by retaining the core concepts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Heads of Schools and Teachers may ensure that the topics that have been reduced are also explained to the students to the extent required to connect different topics. However the reduced syllabus will not be part of the topics for Internal Assessment and year-end Board Examination. Alternative Academic Calendar and inputs from the NCERT on transacting the curriculum using different strategies may also be part of the teaching pedagogy.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Elementary Classes (I-VIII) schools may follow the Alternative Academic Calendar and Learning Outcomes specified by NCERT.<\/span><\/p>\n
