JEE Main April 2020 Registration Date Got Extended Till 12 March

As per the public notice dated 7th February 2020 released by the NTA, the registration window was scheduled to close today at 11.50 pm. However, in continuation to the previous Public Notice for submission of online application for JEE Main 2020, the NTA has extended the JEE Main registration deadline till March 12.

According to Mr Pramod Maheshwari, a well-known name in the education sector and JEE preparatory segment, the concerned students can apply for the exam till March 12 as the registration link will remain open till 5 pm on that very day.

Additionally, the national testing agency has also made changes in the date of application correction process. Wherein, the candidates can make changes in the particulars of JEE Main April 2020 application by paying an additional amount as applicable. However, they cannot make changes in the choice of cities (exam center). Previously the correction facility for JEE Main 2020 registrations was supposed to be open from 8 to 12 March 2020. But now it will open on 13th of March and the concerned students can make changes in their JEE Main applications till 16 March.

Moreover, the NTA has stated that it’s a one-time facility given to avoid any hardship on the part of students. Hence, the candidates must do the corrections very carefully as no further changes will be allowed.

Additional time of one hour for JEE Main 2020 all the candidates with benchmark disabilities

Mr Maheshwari also mentioned that through a notice dated 5th March, the NTA has notified that the students with benchmark disabilities may be allowed additional time of one hour for JEE Main 2020. Irrespective of whether a candidate uses the facility of Scribe or not. 

They would be required to produce a certificate to the authority certifying that the person concerned has physical limitation to write. This certificate must be from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution. As per the proforma given at Appendix- I of the Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
