JEE Main, JEE Adv. and NEET 2020 postponed Check the new exam schedule

On 2nd July, the Union HRD minister had informed to the public in general about the development being made regarding the conduction of JEE and NEET 2020. The ministry has asked the Director-General of NTA to recommend its stand on the conduction of JEE Main & NEET 2020. MHRD had asked the NTA to make a committee and probe into the ongoing condition of the pandemic. Further to which, put forward its recommendation in this regard by 3rd of July. 

The CMD of Career Point, Mr Pramod Maheshwari said that as its response to the MHRD advice, the NTA has pushed the exam dates further.  It was confirmed by the minister itself through a tweet that reads–

“Keeping in mind the safety of students and to ensure quality education we have decided to postpone #JEE & #NEET examinations. JEE Main examination will be held between 1st-6th Sept, JEE advanced exam will be held on 27th Sept & NEET examination will be held on 13th Sept.”

Events that lead to the postponement of the NEET & JEE 2020 Exams

This development has cropped up as the parents and students were raising their concerns about the conduction of NEET and JEE 2020 amid pandemic. The parent and student community has been signing online petitions and has requested the authorities to postpone these prestigious national level entrance exams.

Earlier to this, the parents of around 4,000 NRI students based in West Asia had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on July 1st. They had demanded to postpone the NEET 2020. They had pointed out that no exam centres are located outside India. Meanwhile, their children can’t travel back to India since international travel is still restricted due to the ongoing pandemic.
