NEET Physics: Rank Improver, NEET Chemistry: Game Changer, NEET Biology: Scoring

With more than 28 years of experience in coaching, Career Point’s CMD, Mr. Pramod Maheshwari shared his experience regarding preparation for NEET-UG which he has observed while interacting with  many NEET toppers in the recent past. He comes to the conclusion that Physics is a Rank Improver subject for NEET aspirants while Chemistry & Biology are Game Changer and Scoring subjects respectively. Let’s have a subject-wise preparation tip for NEET.

NEET Physics: The Rank Improver

Physics has always been a difficult subject for NEET students, let’s know how to prepare Physics for NEET?

  • According to NEET-UG previous year’s papers, Mechanics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electrodynamics and Modern Physics are the most important subjects in NEET Physics. So to prepare for your physics, you have to first clear the concepts related to these topics.
  • Solve the formula based questions directly to learn the formula related to that topic and strengthen the subject gradually
  • Understand the theory by solving questions based on that principle. The best way is to learn concepts by application.
  • Theoretical questions related to modern physics are very easy and there are very few calculations so students of NEET should emphasize that.
  • Practice tests to enhance exam-taking skills by joining online test series available by Career Point or other similar coaching institutes.
  • If a question is of long calculation then try to solve it by the first guess or by choices.
  • Most of the questions in Heat and Thermodynamics are of P-Y graph or Principles of Thermodynamics which are easy to solve.
  • Try to improve your weak areas. Pay more attention to the topics you are weak in. Make a list of those topics and try to improve them. You should start with the most important topics of  NEET Physics and then the less important ones Complete PCB in 100 Days for NEET 2021

NEET Chemistry: The Game Changer

Chemistry has always been a game changer topic for NEET students, let’s know how to prepare chemistry for NEET? Chemistry consists of three major sections: Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.

Physical Chemistry:

15 to 20 questions from Physical Chemistry, most of which can be numerically based. The questions in this section are mainly dominated by four topics; Chemical and Ionic Equilibrium, Redox, Liquid Solutions and Electrochemistry. Approximately 8 to 12-questions in physical chemistry are based on these four topics.

  1. Try to practice numerical based questions
  2. See NCERT examples and exam questions
  3. Put more emphasis on 12th grade subjects
  4. Take mock tests to enhance examination temperament
  5. Use video lectures of expert faculty team to strengthen your weak areas

NEET Inorganic Chemistry:

One mistake that medical aspirants often make is to ignore inorganic chemistry. In the past few years, about 10-18 questions can be asked from this section. The important chapters of this section of NEET Organic Chemistry are Chemical Bonding, P-Block and Coordination Compounds.

1. Emphasize chemical bonding, coordination compound

2. Check NCERT Exam Question Papers

3. Solve Last year NEET papers

NEET Organic Chemistry:

In this section of NEET Chemistry, 14-18 questions are asked. The most important chapter of this section is ‘General Organic Chemistry’. In order to score well in this section it is important to understand concepts and their application. In addition to the GOC, Isomerism and Effects must also be fulfilled

1. Name Reaction

2. Stereo-Chemistry

3. Bio-molecules, Polymers and Chemistry in daily life as per NCERT

NEET Biology: The Scoring one

Biology is the subject at which all the NEET aspirants are well versed with. It is quite an informative, knowledgeable and interesting subject for all NEET aspirants. Moreover it is undoubtedly a scoring subject for them. The important topic for NEET Biology are Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Cell Biology & Biomolecules, Genetics & Biotechnology, Ecology and Human Reproduction.

The common recommended preparation strategy for Biology students are:

  1. Prepare Diagrams, Charts, and tables given in NCERT books.
  2. Solve Exemplar problems and see the pattern of questions asked
  3. Prepare flow chart for Mechanism of Physiology for quick revision
  4. Cover Practice test papers or CP Full syllabus test papers which are precisely designed to cater to the need of NEET by an expert team

NEET Biology: Botany

  1. Check the weightage of all topics for Botany.
  2. Give more emphasis to high weightage topics like Genetics and Biotechnology (24%), Ecology (16%), and Plant Physiology (13%).
  3. NCERT books of classes 11 and 12 are a must to strengthen your subject knowledge for Botany. You may use other reference NEET books by CP Publication as well.
  1. You can use NEET video lectures of expert faculty members to improve your weak areas for a better understanding
  1. Take mock tests to revise the syllabus effectively

NEET Biology: Zoology

  1. Get to know the weightage of all topics of Zoology.
  2. First, complete the topic with the highest weightage like Human Physiology (45%) and Human Reproduction and Reproductive Health (18%) and then move on to those with lesser weightage.
  3. NCERT books are like the bible for Biology, refer to each and every topic to strengthen the subject. Use other NEET reference books as well.
  1. Use video lectures of expert faculty to strengthen the weak topics.
  2. Take more and more mock tests for practice to enhance speed.
