In a quest to make the CBSE Board exams 2020 easier for the students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is about to roll certain changes in the 12th board exams. According to the sources, the CBSE board is likely to reduce the number of descriptive questions for class 12th in upcoming CBSE board exams 2020.

Furthermore, students will witness certain changes in the upcoming board exams like an internal assessment in all subjects and a few changes in the format of question paper of the 12th board exams 2020.

Below we have mentioned all the details of the changes in the CBSE 2020 exam pattern.

All Subjects to Have an Internal Assessment

There were the provisions of internal assessment in certain subjects like Science. However, Internal assessment was not there in all the subjects of 12th class.

But from March 2020 onwards, about 20% marks will be set aside for the purpose of internal assessment in all subjects.

Hence from the next session onwards, CSBE board papers of all the subjects will carry 80% marks including Science subjects and fine arts as usual.

School-Based Internal Assessment– 10 Marks to be Drawn From It

In the upcoming Board Exam 2020, 10 marks out of 20 will be drawn from the results of the school exams while the remaining 10 marks will be taken from the internal evaluation.

ASL In English20 Marks to Be Drawn From It

In English, 20 marks for internal assessment will be derived from “Assessment for Speaking and Listening” (ASL). The external examiners will conduct the ASL wherein, the candidates will be tested for their listening and speaking skills in the English language, where they can secure a maximum of 20 marks.

More Objective Type Questions as Last Year

CBSE will introduce 25% MCQ (multiple choice questions) in all the subjects in board exam 2020 onwards. Hence, the subjective type questions will carry 60 marks only instead of 80 marks. Although, it will require a student to study and grasp every topic of the subjects.

Increased Number of Internal Choices in CBSE Board Exams 2020

CBSE had introduced more internal choices in board examinations 2019 and had increased internal options in all sections of question paper by 33%. It will remain as usual for all the subjects of class 12th board examination 2020.

As, the number of choices in the question paper help students choose a question, for which they can answer more confidently, enabling them to score more in their board examinations.

The Practicals of CBSE Board Exams 2020

It is being anticipated that CBSE may consider conducting practical examinations at external centers, in the same way, as it conducts the theory papers. Also, CBSE can introduce a new marking scheme for practical exams of both Class 10th and 12th.

For academic session 2019-2020, CBSE has also eliminated a few chapters from the syllabus of Class 12 Chemistry and Class 12 Physics. Hence, students must check the latest CBSE syllabus to prepare the topics being asked in CBSE board examination 2020.
